The new world of internet provides information on anything to anyone who has access to a computer and a telephone.
People can see each other, chat and talk as if they are physically present. As far as communication and the dissemination of information is concern distance is not a concern. News travels so fast as if we are all living together in one small village. Hence, the statement that the world has become a global village is true.
Technological advancement in the developed and developing world has not spread to the underdeveloped countries. People in the underdeveloped countries are worried about their survival. Basic necessities like food, water and shelter are the top most priority in these places. In this regard the statement that the world has become a global village is not true. In some parts of the world electricity is not there even today. Internet, television and latest technological developments have not reached people in these remote places. Or in other words people in these regions have not even thought about these developments as their priorities are different. We should not overlook the fact that access to a computer and other technology is still a far away dream for many people especially in underdeveloped countries of the world. It will definitely be connected to the rest of the world but penetration into these areas will take place at slow pace as the priority continues to remain on food, clothing and shelter.
In conclusion, though a part of the world including the developed and developing countries may form the part of the village the rest of the underdeveloped world still remain segregated from this village. Hence, at present we cannot call the whole world as a global village
, rather it can only be called a semi-global-village.

Recently the Internet impact has become so great that it could considerably change the image of the whole world. While the percentage of population permeation is relatively low, this permeation spans all six populated continents....

Webmasters also have things they should be monitoring on their websites. Most of these can be classified as traffic related or server performance related. Here is my top ten list.
