San Francisco (InfoWorld) – Near-Time later this month plans to launch a hosted collaboration service for creating workspaces that leverage blogs, wikis, and group calendar functions. The service, also called Near-Time, allows workers to instantly launch collaborative communities via any Web browser. Members can choose to collaborate privately and make some or all of the content publicly available. The service is designed to combine the nonlinear, ad-hoc nature of wikis with the time-sensitive, broadcast essence of blogs. Near-Time is based on standards such as rSS, XML, Atom, and Ajax and allows content to be reused. The service is currently available in a free beta version. The commercial launch will include a free, entry-level service and fee-based advanced services, including encryption, domain mapping, and file sharing. Service pricing will start at $4.95 per month.

I've been actively researching ways to quickly and effectively build content to websites. And while blogs tend to be near the top of the list, there are other opportunities out there. One such opportunity is a Wiki. And while a Wiki won't suit all sites, there are those which can use a Wiki effectively. If you think you are one of those sites, take a look at this article. What is a Wiki? Wiki is a piece of server software that allows users to freely create and edit web page content using any Web browser. Wiki supports....
I designed a website once for streaming audio, this was the key word I was to use streaming website audio, this sounds like a good key word phrase! When it got onto Google it made number one, wow I thought I should get lots of hits with this? I got a grand total of 0 hits, why do you think that was? It's all to do with supply and demand only around 135 people typed these key words in and the demand is around 620000 websites doing the same thing. When you pick your key words there needs to be a good demand....
Learning how to create a blog that will make you money is not rocket science. In fact the process is straight forward and rather simple. You see any successful business blogs you find on the internet generally all have one thing in common: they're all built upon diligent market research. If you expect to make money blogging you absolutely need to devote some time to the research you do when selecting your niche market first. As I've said this is not rocket science although it will require some patience on your part if you are up to it. For the....
I get half of the world traffic for the term "dirtbagging," on one page of my backpacking site, but that only means ten visitors a month. Without decent keyword demand you can't ever get much traffic. Total demand is just one factor to consider, though. Here are some others. 1. Demand/supply ratio. There were 289,000 searches for "fishing" last month, but could you compete against the 35,000,000 results on a Google search? "Bass fishing tips," with 3,700 searches, and 31,000 results is a more likely winner. 2. Total supply. For....
I've sure you've heard before that it's a possibility to make money with your blog and you may be wondering how this is possible. I have a personal blog which is just my own private little place to go online and jot down my thoughts, but I also have my business blogs. Back In The Beginning Now....

Web development has greatly increased in popularity over the last 5 years. Many new design concepts, code standards, and technology advances have happened in a short amount of time. The recent spurt of interest in blogging has begun to ignite the hope that people can make a full-time income from blogging. Although there are a few people actually doing this, there aren't too many business models yet that can support someone making a full-time income from their blogs. I believe that blogs should be an important part of any traffic-generation plan for a website, but don't depend on the blog itself to do much selling. Blogs are best viewed as an addition to site content, in reality, a very simple content management system that helps you update your site more frequently, so....

Dear Friend,Podcasting has all the ingredients to become a major technology trend. Podcasting has started with little fanfare but has the potential to become a giant wave due to a number of factors going for it. The word Podcast might have been roughly derived from iPod and broadcast (it sure sounds like that to me so don't hit me if I am wrong! ). The process works pretty much like radio except that the broadcast is done via mobile devices and the power of content delivery via the internet.....
The question of the day is "Should you start a Blog?" People all over the planet are blogging. Companies, CEOs, lawyers, journalists, stewardesses. Even dogs and babies. Why? Because they can. It's that simple. Blogging requires little or no learning curve. If you can type, speak into a phone, bark, chew, record a holiday movie, you can blog. Blogs have taken publishing out of the domain of those who know HTML and designing, to make this powerful tool available to the rest of us. That holiday in the Far East, your grandma's birthday, you company's latest product offering, your new recipe for rum cake, your....
A fire sale, essentially, is a sale in which during the first couple days the product can be found at an extremely low and appealing price. Sometimes, the seller will even take a loss in profits during this time. This period is intended simply to attract buyers and increase demand, not necessarily to raise any significant amounts of profits. Once the buyers have been hooked, over the next few days, the seller will gradually increase the price and eventually reach the original intended price and then begin to see true profits from the firesale. The key is to try and....
The craze of video on the internet has taken hold, allowing what used to be a for-tv-only media to be streamed straight to your computer. There has been a massive surge in the amount of video on the internet to the point where it has become almost unmanageable, and finding worthwhile videos almost impossible. Free video blogs are a fantastic way to organise these videos in a sensible and logical way. Going to places like YouTube, Google Video, iFilm, DailyMotion, Metacafe, MySpace and GoEar for the videos is a good start for your search. Heading straight for the most popular videos....
